Nastech Pharmaceutical Company announced a workforce reduction of approximately 50 employees.
In November 2007, Nastech also announced that Procter & Gamble pulled out of a deal to co-develop an intranasal teriparatide formulation (see also Spotlight on November 22, 2007). Since then, the company has concentrated on its late-stage clinical programs in order to reduce operating expenses. Nastech expects to save not less than $11 million during the 2008 by this action.
