Oncolytics Biotech Inc. announced successful transition of the manufacturing process of REOLYSIN(R) to commercial scale.
The National Research Council Biotechnology Research Institute (NRC-BRI), located in Montreal, Canada, completed Oncolytics Biotech's scale up of primary production and processing development, now permitting a manufacturing capacity at 40 liters, enabling the company to support future pivotal clinical studies with REOLYSIN(R) and giving the company the potential to produce more than one million doses a year for intravenous use.
Oncolytics Biotech focuses on the development of oncolytic viruses as potential cancer therapeutics. The company's clinical program includes a variety of Phase I/II and Phase II human trials using REOLYSIN(R), its proprietary formulation of the human reovirus, singly and in combination with radiation or chemotherapy.
